The following are believed to be the correct “maximum” benefits provided through the federal government. They are meant to be a guideline (hand edited so if the rates change tomorrow the update here might be delayed…).
OAS -613/month.
GIS -916/month
OAS + GIS combined, if you have 0$ income – 1529.
If you have 18.6k or more income (excluding OAS/GIS) you are not eligible for GIS leaving you the 613 of OAS. (Every dollar you earn per month reduces your GIS by 1/2 dollar.)
CPP – 1175/month. From the CRA website:
“For 2020, the maximum monthly amount you could receive as a new recipient starting the pension at age 65 is $1,175.83. The average monthly amount for March 2020 is $696.56.Your situation will determine how much you’ll receive up to the maximum.”
CPP survivor benefit is a flat rate plus 37.5% of your spouses’ pension. If you are also collecting your own CPP then the combined amount is less than the sum of these 2.
There is a one time $2500 death benefit from CPP assuming certain restrictions are met.
